As the one year anniversary of this blog and the 100 day milestone of the second Trump administration approaches these are my thoughts and hopes, on Easter Day 2025.
In my blog post, Trading Fears for Hope, I enthusiastically supported the appointment of RFK,Jr to head HHS. I am thrilled to see what is happening. Assuming Kennedy avoids the fate of his uncle and father, his accomplishments will change the world. DOGE using AI redid the HHS organization chart, which Kennedy labeled “incomprehensible”. Then he fired thousands of people, not least among them, Peter Marks. Check out Peter Marks Exposed on the Highwire. Kennedy has announced support for banning fluoride in drinking water, and has advocated banning cell phones in schools. These health measures had already been implemented in places throughout the country. Most important of all, he has said that he will have the answer to the cause of autism by September of this year. Scientists from all over the world are studying any and all possible causes. Soon there will be no place to hide.
Dr. Oz, as the head of Medicare and Medicaid, came out strong. He will be cleaning up the fraud and abuse within the agency and he told the public that it is their patriotic duty to be healthy and get off of prescription drugs.
While there is fierce and active opposition to the whole MAHA movement and to Kennedy in particular, there seems to be an equally strong and vocal support for this revolution. My husband and I are finding that friends, who have openly disagreed with us on the subject of autism and vaccines, have learned of information that supports our take on things. This has never happened in the past. One example is the recent study from the Cleveland Clinic, The study found that getting the flu shot last year made it more likely that you would get the flu. These same people had not heard the previous Cleveland Clinic study that showed that the more Covid shots you got the more you got Covid. Things are rapidly changing.
Kennedy has joined forces with Calley Means who is working on getting the food in the US to be safe and healthy, What I had not expected at this early time is the grassroots support for health and freedom that is organically emerging all over the country. Work is being done at the state and local level to ban MRNA vaccines. Some state efforts to criminally investigate Fauci have begun. There was a great victory in Idaho last week with the signing of a bill that ensures the rights of people to refuse medical treatment without repercussions. Work is being done that would prevent federal SNAP money from being used for junk food and soda.
There is so much good and it is happening so fast I hate to talk about the flies in the ointment, but I feel I must.
Regarding the Trump tariffs, I have concerns, but not enough education and understanding to posit an opinion. My feeling is that if things go sideways we could be facing recession or even depression. The dollar may be toppled as the world currency and a lot of financial pain may ensue. On the other hand, this may happen in spite of these efforts. Perhaps these efforts will forestall a catastrophe. This concerns me but does not make me lose sleep.
The wars that are continuing and the threat of a new war between the US and Iran are what makes my stomach churn. When I voted for Trump, I had hopes he would end the war in Ukraine. I have not lost hope, but although Trump is talking to Putin, nothing, as yet, has been secured. In Putin’s superior military position, it may be that the Trump ego will not allow him to accept what will ultimately be a humiliating loss to the west. In my opinion, that is what is bound to happen eventually and dragging it out will result in nothing more than more needless death and destruction.
More frightening to me is the middle east. After a great cease fire deal was worked out between Israel and Gaza, the administration allowed Netanyahu to back out of the deal and continue the war, Now, evidently, in order to keep our greatest ally safe, we must enter into a war with Iran. I have heard that Trump has stopped Israel from doing a preemptive strike on Iran and Trump is speaking with the Iranian leader. I have hope and fear.
These are truly frightening times. What good is a healthy world if it is about to be destroyed in a nuclear blast?
