It has been less than one month since the landslide election of Donald Trump as the 47th president of the United States. My worst fear, a Harris victory, and my second worst, a close election without a clear winner for weeks, were put to rest on election night. The latter would have thrown the country, perhaps the world, into heightened stress and fear. As things stand now, roughly half the country is suffering in that state. Many of those should seek professional help. That is not a joke.
It is hard to express my joy at hearing RFK Jr. is to head Health and Human Services. Kennedy will have the power to clean house. To then hear that Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, the co-author of the Great Barrington Declaration, wil head the NIH, makes me think I am dreaming. That position had been held by Francis Collins, who was, purportedly, Fauci’s boss. The corporate media is loosing no time disparaging, ridiculing, and denouncing the appointments most needed to reverse the corrupt course the country is on. Of course late night hack, Steven Colbert, is jumping in. Can we ever get the image of him dancing, dressed as a vaccine, out of our minds? According to one guest on a MSM show they are getting calls from terrified employees that are planning to quit their jobs rather than live through what will happen next, Obviously that would be quite considerate of them to jump ship before they are thrown overboard. Does the corporate media really believe they can influence anyone, beyond the dwindling, doddering, die hards who still tune in? Their dire warnings were ignored. Infected by misogyny, ignorance, and racism we have elected a virtual Hitler. By early 2025 the likes of Rachel Maddow will be imprisoned and Liz Cheney will have been executed, not to mention what is going to happen to anyone who is hispanic or homosexual. The end of all democracy is upon us.
While the histrionics are downright pathetic, I fear that the powers that control corporate media have more up their sleeves. We have won a significant battle, but the war is far from over. Hopefully RFK has very good security. Trump should be safe from assassination attempts provided he and JD are not together in public.
Biden has warmly greeted Trump at the White House and promised a smooth transition, while now allowing our long range weapons to be used to hit targets deep into Russia, and if the news can be believed (this is a joke), pouring all the money possible into Israel. A lame duck president seems intent on starting WW3 before he leaves office. Why? Could it be that this is a card that the Deep State is playing to destroy the incoming presidency by keeping endless, pointless war sucking our resources into the jaws of the insatiable war machine? Could it be the chance of nuclear war is a chance that they are willing to take? I doubt the sane amongst us are on board with that. How many remember the days when a lame duck president was cowed into not appointing a supreme court justice at the end of his presidency? A huge stink was raised that it would not be fair to the new administration.
On the positive side I was shocked to hear Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in a recent interview, talk about a peace deal. He said that “people were more important than land”. It would not look good for the Democrats if Trump could get a deal at the start of his administration and end the bloodshed. Would the faithful dem’s ask themselves why they could not have done this? Would they conclude that it is because the democrats want to keep war going or would they believe that Trump is secretly working for Putin, who of course is crazy and wants to take over the world and craftily blew up his own pipeline as a way to get things rolling? No doubt they would firmly believe the latter when it comes out of the mouths of their media gurus.
I wish I held out a similar hope for the Palestinian people. Both sides of the political aisle have undying loyalty to Israel. On the other hand, what would the American people think if the John F. Kennedy files were released and the assassination of this beloved president involved the Mossad, Israel’s intelligence agency. Perhaps there are not enough people living who would care. If Trump releases the Epstein Files, and if it proves to be a trove of information gathered for blackmail and control purposes and if it involves Israel, would that be enough to stop the control of our country by that small foreign country? Of course I am now just dreaming. Even if the all the above “ifs” turned out to be true, the media might still convince enough people that it is all part of a huge anti-semitic plot and we need new laws to silence those bringing this information forward, and new laws to protect jews, and of course, we need to get into a war with Iran to make sure that Israel is never thwarted while it continues its insane killing spree.
I should just slap myself and be happy for what does look likely to happen. For the first time in months perhaps for the first time in years, I have genuine hope that I temper with understanding of the forces that are set against change. These forces reside in the deep state, and its military machine, in big pharma, in big food, and in big Ag. They can be beaten back.
